Warning

Please note: To use the services of geocaching.com, you must agree to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

The cache is "kid" accessible and is a 1 pint "4 Lock" container. The crushed limestone bicycle trail running by the cache parallels the Missouri River and offers almost continuous views of the river. The container is large enough for Tabs as well as other small items.

7/8/08 note: Because of the heavy rains this spring, the foliage in the area has really grown. This is making this cache very difficult to find.

I did take another reading over the cache and found this one to be slightly different: N 44 20.476 W 100 17.553. I've also uploaded a picture that will help assure that you are generally in the correct location. However the cache is not in nor near the object pictured. Good luck.

This should be a fun one for the kids. While it is well hidden, it is also accessible, especially to one that thinks out of the box.

Congratulations to Familygeo FTF!

The trail is used by bicyclers, joggers, hikers, etc. However on quiet days one can see deer, geese, maybe a Bald Eagle, and in the after dark hours perhaps a skunk. I found that a very bright flashlight will probably scare the skunk away without any unfortunate experiences for either you or the skunk.

For a map of the trail, see these two sites: 1 and 2.

The western trail head on the first map is the suggested parking area.

All trails in the Pierre area are shown here.

Found it while out for a walk on this beautiful November afternoon. No doubt this one could be a lot more difficult in the summer with active plant growth, shade, etc. Took a bicycle pin. Left a pen that writes in about 10 different colors. TFTC.

I went for a walk this evening with the goal of finding a few caches along the way. Success on this one. TFTC

This one was definitely NOT out in the open like "End of the Trail" and took me a good 10 minutes to find. Cache in good shape. Nice walk from parking area so GZ not hard to get to. Took: Toy Cowboy. Left: Toy Soldier. SL TFTC

Taking a circular route to and from Pierre Meet and Eat event, only I spent so much time getting there, I missed the event.
I wish that I had brought the bike for these caches, but when I left home this morning there were storm warnings out.
Quick find. SL TFTC
