Geocache Description:

The hike is about 4 miles each way and has an elevation gain of just under 1500'. The Paine Mountain Trail travels over old fire roads until the final push up the PMT to the top.

Paine Mountian is the tallest mountain in the Northfield Range and is the culmination of a great hike up from the town of Northfield. There aren't any great views, just a good hike.

The hike is a gradual ascent with some steeper pitches. I hid this one after the first snowfall of the year. There was about 6" of fresh snow at the top and it made for a magical hike.

There are a few ways to tackle this one if you know the area, but if you don't, I would recommend using the waypoints I set up below.

You can get from "DOH!!" to this one and vice-versa if you use the Ridgeline Trail (not marked). It is near the top when you make the final push for the cache.
