Skeppsholmen är en ö mitt i Stockholms innerstad, som idag kanske är känd främst för sina museer. Ön har dock tjänat som Stockholms örlogsbas i över 300 år, och bebyggelsen är därför till stora delar militär från början. Numera har ön dock en mer civil karaktär med bland annat vandrarhem, folkhögskola, Arkitekturmuseet, Moderna museet med mera. Det var också på Skeppsholmen som den nybyggda briggen Tre kronor af Stockholm (Stockholmsbriggen) färdigställdes och sjösattes 2005. Där cachen är gömd är utsikten mot Gamla Stan och Slussen strålande!

Skeppsholmen is an island in the city of Stockholm, that nowadays maybe is most famous for its museums. The island has, however, served as a military installment for more than 300 years, and many of the buildings here were originaly used by the military. Today the island has more of a civilian touch, and here you can find a hostel, a folk high school, Arkitekturmuseet (the Museum of Architecture) and Moderna museet (the Museum of Modern Arts) among other things. The newly built brig Tre Kronor af Stockholm (Stockholmsbriggen) was also built at Skeppsholmen, and was launched there 2005. Where the cache is hidden, the view over Gamla stan (Old town) and Slussen is great!

Denna cache gömdes ursprungligen som lucka nummer 6 i den svenska julkalendern XMAS 2007, där det ingick cachar i hela Sverige. Som lite extra julinfo fanns också denna text med i cachebeskrivningen:

Julspecial: På Skeppsbron, på andra sidan vattnet, byggs varje vinter den så kallade Kinneviks-granen upp. Den är speciell såtillvida att alla dess grenar sågas av och ersätts med nya innan den reses. I stammen borras hål med jämna mellanrum, och i dessa placeras grenar från mindre träd, så att granen ska få ett symmetriskt utseende som möjligt. Kinneviks-granen syns väldigt bra från cachens position, så länge det inte ligger någon båt i vägen.

This cache was initially hidden as cache number 6 in the Swedish Christmas calendar XMAS 2007, that contained caches all over Sweden. As an extra Christmas info, this text was included in the cache description:

Christmas special: At Skeppsbron, across the water, the so called Kinneviks-granen (the Kinnevik christmas tree) is built every year. It is special, since its branches is removed completely and replaced with new ones before it is erected. In the trunk small holes are drilled, and branches from smaller trees are placed there, so that the tree should have an as symmetrical look as possible. From the cache's hiding place, you should have a splendid view of Kinneviks-granen, as long as there aren't any boats in the way.
