I
1869 kom jernbanen til Aalborg, dette fik kammerherren på Birkelse
Hovedgaard til arbejde for en jernbane til Fjerritslev. I 1874
lykkedes det kammerherren, at samle så megen støtte til, at bygge
en jernbane nord for fjorden. At man afholdte et orienterende møde
på Hotel Phønix i Aalborg, her nedsatte man en komite der skulle
arbejde videre med planerne. I 1897 indviede man den vestlige del
af jernbanen mellem Fjerritslev og Frederikshavn via
Nørresundby.
Der
var to trinbræt ved Aarup dels et ved Aarup Hede og et ved
Aarupvejen. Trinbrættet Ved Aarup Hede var lavet fra starten men
trinbrættet ved Aarupvejen blev først etableret i 1949 i skovkanten
lige ved vejoverskæringen, der var rejst et beskedent rødmalet
læskur i træ og en signalmast så man kunne signalere til tog at man
ville med.
En
rejse med toget på Fjerritslev – Frederikshavn Jernbane skal også
omhandle noget at materiellet, som blev brugt ved jernbanen.
Jernbane selskabet var meget forsigtige på mange områder (rigtige
nordjyder), dette galte også indkøbet af materiellet til
opstarten.
Fordi
man havde lavet skinnelegemet med 17,3 kilos skinner, måtte man
vælge forholdsvis let materiel. Man måtte ikke overskride en
tjeneste vægt på 20-25 tons, derfor faldt valget på damplokomotiver
fra den tyske fabrikant Arnold Jung, Kirchen an der Sieg, som
leverede 3 ”langhalsede” før åbningen af banen, disse blev brugt
ved forskellige prøvekørsler, efter åbningen blev endnu et
lokomotiv fra tyskland leveret. Så man fra start rådede over 4
damplokomotiver.
Budgettet
var også sparsomt da man skulle til at købe personvognsmateriel,
derfor endte man også med kun at købe det strengt nødvendigste og
vognene var ret gammeldags indrettet, man startede ud med 9 Güstrow
vogne i alt, vognene var indrettet med anden og tredje klasse –
ikke noget med det fine første klasse her!
Vognene havde næsten fladt tag, vognkasserne var inddelt i kupeer
i vognenes fulde bredde. Indstigningen foregik midt for hver kupé.
Kupeerne på tredje klasse var alle forsynet med stive træsæder,
mens sæderne på anden klasse var stofbeklædte. Nogle af vognene var
indrettet med postafsnit. Ret hurtigt måtte man indkøbe flere vogne
og disse blev indkøbt fra Scandia i Randers disse var mere moderne
bl.a. havde de åbne endeperroner.
De første vogne var leveret med acetylenbelysning, der var en helt
særlig procedure for at tænde for belysningen i vognene. Gassen
blev opbevaret i en gasbeholder under hver vogn, ved vogngavlen var
der en hovedhane denne skulle åbnes helt, derefter skulle man
springe ind i hver kupé og åbne for gassen ved hvert lampested, som
skulle tændes. Samtidig skulle man lytte efter om gassen sivede i
gasledningen, hvis man ikke kunne høre kunne man lugte sig frem…
derefter skulle man lukke for gassen ved lampestederne, dette var
den sidste kontrol inden lamperne kunne tændes!
Der
kan skrives meget om materiellet ved Fjerritslev – Frederikshavn
Jernbane, men for ikke at gøre teksten for lang springer vi lidt. I
1934 indkøber jernbanen sine første diesel elektriske
motorlokomotiver, kønne var de ikke men de var revolutionerende som
trækkraft, de blev leveret fra Frichs. I 1929 havde man fået
leveret en rangertraktor fra Breuer den blev i daglig tale ikke
kaldet andet end klædeskabet (den mindende meget om den
rangertraktor Olsen Banden benytter i filmen ”Olsen Banden på
sporet”). Den blev i 1946 renoveret med teaktræsbeklædning og
senere igen fik den ny motor en brugt Bedford dieselmotor med 76 HK
den endte sine dage som rangertraktor på Fjerritslev Station efter
i mange år at havde været rangertraktor i Sæby.
Man fik også øje på fordelene ved motorvogne, som er en
kombination af lokomotiv og passagervogn. Disse var en slags
forløber for skinnebusserne, motorvognene blev dog også benyttet
som trækkraft i blandet togsæt (godsvogne og passagervogne). Disse
blev leveret af Trianglen i Odense, den sidste motorvogn blev
leveret i 1937 og har overlevet diverse ophugninger og køre i
dag.
I 1940 blev man præsenteret for et forslag om at købe
skinneomnibusser, dette var let ombyggede busser så de kunne køre
på skinner, man indkøbte i alt 6 stk. inden man til sidst kopierede
svenske skinnebusser. De let ombyggede busser var slet ikke
optimale, nok løste i opgaven med at transportere passagerer, men
det kunne godt gøres bedre! I Sverige havde man dog næsten fundet
de vise sten, det blev dog Næstved-Præstø-Mern Banen som blev de
første til at indkøbe ”svenske skinnebusser”. Det var denne type
skinnebusser som man benyttede til banens nedlæggelse, de blev dog
forbedret og fornyet på mange punkter.
Skinnebusserne blev også brugt i samarbejde med Thisted –
Fjerritslev Jernbane, man kørte ”lyn tog” direkte mellem Thisted og
Aalborg.
I 1954 ejede Fjerritslev – Frederikshavn Jernbane i alt følgende
motormateriel: ét diesellokomotiv 750 hk (et marcipanbrød), to
diesellokomotiver à 415 og 450 HK (de firkantede Frichsére), tre
dieselmotorvogne, fem skinnebusmotorvogne med hver 160 HK, to
diesel-rangertraktorer af hver 125 HK samt en diesel rangertraktor
på 76 HK. Marcipanbrødet var leveret i 1953 fra Frichs i Aarhus,
Marcipanbrødet havde en lidt speciel til hørelses forhold til
Aalborg Privatbaner som Fjerritslev – Frederikshavn Jernbane indgik
i. Det var nemlig civilingeniør William Bay der i 1946 havde tegnet
og udviklet disse lokomotiver, han blev i februar 1951 ansat som
ledende maskiningeniør hos Aalborg Privatbaner.

In 1869 the railway came to
Aalborg, this was chamber master at Birke Manor to work for a rail
to Fjerritslev. In 1874 they managed chamber master to gather as
much support to build a railway north of the fjord. At where held a
briefing session at the Hotel Phønix in Aalborg, here they set up a
committee which would work on the plans. In 1897 inaugurated the
western railway between Fjerritslev and Frederikshavn through
Nørresundby.
There were two steps in
Aarup either by Aarup Hede and by Aarup Way. Step By Aarup Hede was
created from the start but step by the board Aarup vejen was first
established in 1949 in the forest edge at roadcrossing that had
raised a modest red painted shelters of wood and a signal mast so
you could signal to the trains that would.
A journey by train on
Fjerritslev - Frederikshavn Railway will also address some of the
equipment that was used by railway. The railway company was very
conservative in many areas (north jyder right), this including
purchase of equipment to boot.
Because it had made rail body with 17.3 kilos rails, had to choose
relatively easy stock. It may not exceed a service weight of 20-25
tons, so the choice fell on the steam locomotives from the German
manufacturer Arnold Jung, Kirchen an der Sieg, which supplied 3
"long-neck" before the opening of the track, these were used for
various test runs after opening was yet another driver from Germany
delivered. So you start had 4 steam locomotives.
The budget was also sparingly since it had to buy personalwagon
stock, therefore, also ended up with just to buy what is strictly
necessary and the coaches were rather old-fashioned arranged Monday
started out with 9 Güstrow trailers in all, the wagons were
arranged with the second and third class - no something with the
fine first-class here!
Wagons were nearly flat roof, wagon boxes were divided into kupeer
of wagons full width. Embarking made middle of each compartment.
Cupeerne the third class, all equipped with rigid woodendseats,
while the second-class seats were coated fabric. Some of the wagons
were arranged by post title. Right quickly had to buy more
carriages and were purchased from Scandia in Randers they were more
modern, inter alia had the open end platforms.
The first trailers were delivered to ligthning that was a very
special process to turn the lighting in the wagons. The gas was
stored in a gas in each car by car roof was a major cock that would
be opened completely, then it would jump into each compartment and
open the gas lamp at each location, which was switched on. While it
would listen on the gas leaked in the pipeline, if you could not
hear one could smell themselves ... then it would cut off the gas
at the lamp posts, this was the last check before lights could be
turned on!
There can be written much about the equipment at Fjerritslev -
Frederikshavn Rail, but not to make the text too long jump we
suffered. In 1934 the railways buys its first diesel-electric
locomotive engine, was not pretty but they were revolutionary
traction as they came from Frichs. In 1929 had been supplied with a
shunting tractor from Breuer was generally not known as anything
other than dress cupboard (the lower end much of the shunting
tractor Olsen Banden use in the movie "Olsen Banden on track"). It
was renovated in 1946 with teak finishes and then again got the new
engine used Bedfor a diesel engine with 76 hp it ended its days as
a shunting tractor to Fjerritslev Station after many years that had
been shunting tractor in Sæby.
There were also perceived benefits of motor-cars, which are a
combination of driver and passenger wagon. These were a kind of
precursor to track buses, motor wagons were also used as traction
in mixed trains (freight wagons and passenger vans). These were
delivered by Triangle in Odense, the last motor vehicle was
delivered in 1937 and has survived various scrapping and running
today.
In 1940 it was presented with a proposal to buy railbusses, this
was easily converted buses so they could run on rails, you
purchased a total of 6 pcs. before eventually copied Swedish rail
buses. They easily converted buses were not optimal, probably
solved the task of transporting passengers, but it could be better!
In Sweden, however, had almost taken the show rocks, it was
nevertheless Næstved-Præstø systems track which was the first to
buy "Swedish rail buses." It was this type of track coaches who
were used for the runway closure, they were improved and renewed on
many points.
Rail buses were also used in cooperation with Thisted -
Fjerritslev Railway that ran "lightning train" directly between
Thisted and Aalborg.
In 1954 owned Fjerritslev - Frederikshavn Railway Total motor
following equipment: a diesel locomotive 750 hp (a marzipan bread),
two diesel locomotives à 415 and 450 hp (the square Frichsére),
three diesel-engine cars, five skinnebusmotorvogne each with 160
hp, two diesel shunting tractors each 125 hp and a diesel shunting
tractor of 76 hp. Marzipan bread was delivered in 1953 from Frichs
in Aarhus, Marzipan bread was a bit special for a hearing against
Aalborg Private Courses as Fjerritslev - Frederikshavn Railway
entered in. It was a civil engineer William Bay in 1946 had
designed and developed these locomotives, he was in February 1951
worked as chief mechanical engineer at Aalborg Private
Courses.
