February 6 by TeamSeekAndWeShallFind (1407 found) C finding out at the last minute he had to work today really foiled our awesome caching plans for the day leaving us with a mere 2 hours caching time. Oh well, we had to settle to staying around home and picking up a few which is better than nothing I suppose. Actually, we come here from Campton Hills so this isn't really around our home but it's about 100+ miles closer than where we had planned to cache today. That trip will ( hopefully ), take place next weekend. Rats ! Because we were so limited on time today we found ourselves running from cache to cache which I don't really like doing because when we come to an area like this I like to look around and enjoy the beauty and maybe do a little exploring. I feel like we're cheating ourselves when we rush through a find. Anyway, C dropped me off along the entrance because the gates were closed and I came back here by myself. I found the cache in no time. You ain't kiddin' when you said it's a big silver box. I enjoy finding ammo cans every now and again but the one thing that s*cks about them is we pretty much always find them empty and the bigger they are the more vast the emptiness seems. So I have the can sitting on top of a log as I'm signing the logbook and wouldn't you know it, I hear 2 muggles talking really loudly coming down the path. The area where the cache is isn't big at all and the worse part is I'm there by myself like a weirdo standing in the woods ! Had there been both of us back there we would've looked a lot more normal like maybe we were, "doing something," back there. When you just see one person standing around in the woods don't you say to yourself, "Wow, that's a little creepy ?" Kinda like the time me and C were laying on the ground under an old firetruck looking for a cache. Don't you think that looked more acceptable to the cop that drove by and saw us than if only one of us had been laying under there ??? Or how about the time I was inside this park sign looking for a cache ? Yea, that was real nice ! C's in the truck. I crawl up inside the park sign and a muggle jogger who must've seen my feet, stops by, knocks on the sign like it was a door and asks me what I'm doing in there ? Try coming up with an answer to that one ! HOW can you EVER explain what you're doing by yourself inside a Tri-Fold park sign ? I think I said I was checking the bolts or something equally ridiculous ! Had both of us been in there do you think the muggle would've knocked ? No ! She would've thought we were.....YOU KNOW....and kept running ! One person inside a park sign....CREEPY....Two people inside a park sign....Hmmmm, I bet they're having fun !! See what I mean ? I thought fast on my feet and stepped about 20' from the BIG SILVER BOX that was sitting on the log, whipped out my phone, and made like I was taking pictures ! Anybody who takes pictures would've asked themselves what the heck could that weirdo possibly be taking pictures of but I don't think most people really question. They glanced at me and then went back to blabbing so it must've fooled em' ! I thought later that even if they did see the BIG SILVER BOX, they might've just thought it was a camera case ! I signed the log, took the VERY COOL geocoin and replaced the BIG SILVER BOX exactly like I found it. The coin was without any sort of travel case so I remembered I had a little eyeglass repair kit in my pack that was in a plastic holder like the ones geocoins come in !! ?? I took the repair kit out and now this neat coin has some sort of protection while it travels. I hope it works out. Just as I was exiting the woods C called me on my phone to see if I was still alive. He thought he was gonna have to come back and help me find the BIG SILVER BOX ! Wouldn't that be embarrassing ?
