I
1869 kom jernbanen til Aalborg, dette fik kammerherren på Birkelse
Hovedgaard til arbejde for en jernbane til Fjerritslev. I 1874
lykkedes det kammerherren, at samle så megen støtte til, at bygge
en jernbane nord for fjorden. At man afholdte et orienterende møde
på Hotel Phønix i Aalborg, her nedsatte man en komite der skulle
arbejde videre med planerne. I 1897 indviede man den vestlige del
af jernbanen mellem Fjerritslev og Frederikshavn via
Nørresundby.
Stationen
er tegnet af P. Poulsen, som også har tegnet mange af de andre
stationer på strækningen. Den lagde i en kurve, der var et
krydsningsspor, et af de lange på 450 meter. En lidt speciel ting
ved stationen er at den ligger forenden af en vej, som så drejer 90
grader. Flere af stationerne på strækningen ligger et stykke fra
selve ”byen” f.eks. Skræm station eller trindbrættet i Husby. Andre
stationer er bygget i udkanten af en by og så er byen vokset hen
mod stationen, det kan f.eks. ses i Birkelse. Her har byen så
planlagt vejene omkring stationen, så disse ikke kom i vejen for
hinanden.
Stationen er bevaret og er i dag privat beboelse, så respekter
venligst beboernes privatliv. Det skal dog nævnes at ejerne af
stationen efter dens nedlæggelse, har været gode til at bevare
mange detaljer, f.eks. kan nævnes at den gamle bænk der stod på
perronen, er bevaret. Inde i huset er bevaret den gamle
billetsalgsluge, telefonen som blev brugt ved banen er også
bevaret, men findes desværre ikke længere i stationen.

In 1869 the railway came to Aalborg, this was chamber
master at Birke Manor to work for a rail to Fjerritslev. In 1874
they managed chamber master to gather as much support to build a
railway north of the fjord. At where held a briefing session at the
Hotel Phønix in Aalborg, here they set up a committee which would
work on the plans. In 1897 inaugurated the western railway between
Fjerritslev and Frederikshavn through Nørresundby.
The station was designed by P. Poulsen, who have also signed many
of the other stations on the line. It was in a curve that was
crossing the track, one of the long at 450 meters. A little special
things about the station is that it is the front of a road, which
then is 90 degrees. Several of the stations on the line situated at
a distance from the "city" for example. Skræm Station or the
platform in Husby. Other stations were built on the outskirts of a
city and then the town has grown toward the station, for example.

The station has been preserved and is now a private dwelling
house, so please respect residents' privacy. But the fact remains
that the owners of the station after its closure, has been good to
preserve many details, for example. include that the old bench
which stood on the platform, has been retained. Inside the house is
preserved the old ticketing swallow, the phone that was used by the
track is also retained, but are sadly no longer in the
station.
