This cache is a regular size lock and lock container with loggers and swaggy goodness.
So, to make a long story slightly less long, this cache was hidden on a hike to Paul and Gerald's 8 k Cache - different Paul. Joining me on this adventure was Mark, from mark&beth. Hence the name, honouring the inspiration cache.
This cache was placed to get you on the same trail we slogged through to get the 8 k cache. You can approach it from the trail head in Riverview but a quicker route is to park further down on the Pine Glen Road at the entrance to the Sand Hill Side Trail of the Dobson Trail. Conveniently, markirene has already placed a cache there to get you started. The trip from the Side Trail is just over 6 km return, which is shorter than the 16.6 km trip it would be from the start of the trail....anyway.
The terrain is rated high, as even though this is on the Dobson, the terrain between km 10 and km 8 on the trail is...interesting. Depending on season, there may be a lot of water. And I mean a lot. Wear waterproof boots. Maybe even galoshes or knee high rubber boots. Something!
The scenery is amazing, as is the quietness of the area. Loads of squirrels around. Plenty of birds too. Enjoy the woods and do your best to ignore what may be a fairly swampy terrain - the walk is worth it.
If you approach this cache from km 1, it will be on the right hand side of the trail, 20 m or so into the woods. If you approach from the Sand Hill Side Trail, the cache will be on the left hand side of the trail.
