A small cache useful for extending streaks. The above coords are bogus.
Some of our local cachers have found at least one cache every day for exceptionally long periods of time. Most notably, Yellow Jacket has found a cache every day for 229 days at the time this cache was placed, followed by Smiling in Acworth with a streak of 154 days. It would be a shame for these streaks to end because of a lack of available caches so I placed this cache to forestall this possibility for one more day.
Unlike the four previous caches in this series, this cache does require a little extra knowledge of the use of a GPSr. The cache is placed in the little known Ben L. Custer Park in Cobb County and, so far as I know, is the first cache to be located here. The above coordinates are for the location of the park entrance.
To find the cache coordinates, it would be best to first find “Streak Extender No. 4” (GC18B3A) because that cache hide is very similar to this one and its coords are the starting point for finding this cache’s coords. Take the UTM coordinates for cache number 4 and decrease the easting component by 1713 meters. Then decrease the northing component by 242 meters. The results are the UTM coords for this cache.
NOTE: Unfortunately, "Streak Extender No. 4" has now been archived. The coordinates for that cache were N 33° 57.861 W 084° 30.920; (UTM: 16S E 729576 N 3760985).
The cache is a small jar containing only a log. Bring your own pencil.
It’s not practical for me to place these caches in Acworth or Tucker, but East Cobb County is about equidistant from both Yellow Jacket and Smiling in Acworth territory so y’all come get them when you need them. Of course, everyone else is welcome as well.
