1. From Siófok: Drive on Main Route No. 65. After the M7 highway-bridge turn right in the third roundabout and leave the roundabout in the third exit. Along your route, you will find the Church of Balatonkiliti which is more than 200 years old.

It is worth to park your car here:

This is the turnpoint too.
In clear and nice weather the sight is very good from here. This place we can call as a look-out point. You can see from here the Lake Balaton and in very clear weather, the Badacsony hills.

Have a pleasent trip.

About the village (part of the city):
Siófok - Kiliti

This lovely village can be found 4 kms from the Lake Balaton. It is built on the hilly countryside near the Canal Sió.It is hard to separate the history of Kiliti and Siófok because when Siófok developed into a 'spatown' it always took effect on Kiliti.

In the past Balatonújhely belonged to Siófok too. Before this it was called Vilmatelep, its previous name was Csibatelep or Balatonlidó, nowadays hungarian calls the place Balatonszéplak.

The first buildings were built in 1890 by the Southern Irontrack Ltd. (Déli Vaspálya Társaság) and after that in 1900 the next houses were built by the Balaton Fishing Ltd. (BAlaton Halászati RT).
In 1895 this place was used by the equestrians and they built here stakearea.
In 1895 István Rosznagel had the first bigger place here and he estabilished Vilmatelep. He called after his wife's name.

In 1908, the Balaton-Alliance established an allotment on a 42,6 English acres area for the Kiliti family. A huge orchard was planted in 1909 here by the then chapter of Veszprém. After this nice growing, the government wanted to connect this area to Veszprém Shire or rather to Siófok. There are substantiations from the Árpád-era (around AD 1100), that here can be found some church-remains from this era. Archaeologists sustained that many of the then living avar people could live through the hungarian Conquestion (AD 896). After this here lived:
Bulcsú's, Lél's and Bo's folks lived here until AD 955 came.
They were destroyed in the Ad 955 Augsburg war.

Somogy was owned by a new proprietary from the Árpád-House, later Koppány became the new lord. Inferential, that Koppány was not a pagan in AD 972. Maybe he was an eastern Christian. After Géza monarch died, Koppány turned aganist Stephan. The consequence was: Stephan won aganist Koppány. After this happened Somogy became one of the 47 shires. The neighbour villages of Kiliti were:
Holóvogy, Losta, Töreki, Sövényfalu, Fok.

The first chartered mention of Siófok is from AD 1082, which was called, Clety. Its name is from the city's patron saint, Saint Cletus - suffragan bishop and martyr. In AD 1211, the Tihany Abbey called Kiliti as Cletus, which had been appeared in Szt. László's warrant in Pannonhalma. In AD 1265 its name is Kelety and belongs to Tihany Abbey. In AD 1302 they had called as Kylity. In this era, Kiliti belonged to the Chapter of Székesfehérvár. The neighbour of Kiliti was Losta Island, which was bulked out from the bog as an island. Nowadays this area is also called as an island with its 113 meters sea-level height, in that era it was only 8 meters high above sea-level.

Siófok and its surroundings had been built up in the Roman ages. In Kiliti, archeologists found a cemetery from the Roman ages under Szabadság tér 1. On the "grapehill" they found tiles which are allusive for a potential council estate. In AD 292 the ancestor canal of Sió canal was delved out by Emperor Galerius. It was connected with Lake Balaton, and the river Danube. He also built up a dam here.
