bacalhau: It's a pity! The wall where the cache was hidden is destroyed. I don't believe that it was done by geocachers. I think stupid forest workers damaged the wall with the car.
Due to the fact, that this can't be excluded for the future, I have to archive the cache.
Sorry to say that. But meanwhile there are enough caches on Madeira.
Life goes on.

For Madeira it’s very important to detect immediately fire in the nature when in a dry summer flames are burning up. To this end, they built a lot of watch towers around the island and also the dirt roads to this towers. Of course the towers were always built on places where you have the best view. And one of these is “Pico do Suna” – 1041 NN.

The easiest way to go to is to drive on ER202 (ER=estrada regional) down from the pass “Poiso” in direction of Santo da Serra. At spoiler 1 N 32°43.122 W 016°51.499 turn left, leave the ER202 and follow the dirt road (I used my mountain bike). 3 km later you should reach the watch tower on a small hill – see photo. .
After you found the cache, you can go back the same way, or go down the hill and after 260 m turn left. This narrow track will carry you to the foresters house (N 32°44.476 W 016°50.667) at the levada coming from Ribeiro Frio and further on to Portela. Of course you can also start from Portela and go up to Pico do Suna (a little bit more exhausting). In this case, take care to take the right way at N 32°44.364 W 016°50.825 (marker “Pico do Suna).
You can combine this cache also with the levada-walk to Ribeiro Frio. But then you are busy for the whole day.
I wish you a fantastic weather because from the Pico do Suna you have to look north east. The best view to the neighbour island Porto Santo.
