Between Shore Road and Tom Harvey Road, on either side of Champlin Woods Assisted Living Center. An extensive trail system is accessible from Tom Harvey Road. If you use Shore Road it will appear that you are entering into a residential development. However, there is a small parking lot and it is legal for you to park there.
This is the first cache that I have hidden. It is also the first in a series located on property owned by the Westerly Land Trust. The Dr. John Champlin Glacier Park consists of two parcels totaling 134 acres. It is entirely recessional moraine kettle and kame topography including ponds, sand barrens and ridges overlooking Winnapaug Pond, Block Island Sound, Block Island and Long Island. There is a camera in the cache so please feel free to take a photo of yourself or the surrounding area. Once the last picture is taken please notify me so I can remove the camera and get the photos onto the website. Also there is FTF button. Difficulty rating is from Tom Harvey Road. From Shore Road it could be a park and grab. For further information about the WLT check out their website: www.westerlylandtrust.org
Changed the name since the WLT designated this as Charlie's Overlook after I originally placed the cache. The views are outstanding and you can learn about my special friend "Charlie". If you walk the trails you can learn a lot about what Charlie taught us.
