Eine kurze Wanderung in der Umgebung der Burg Clam.
A short hike in the surroundings of Clam
castle.
Geschichte:
Im
12. Jh. wird die Burg Clam erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Zur Zeit
des Bauherrn und Besitzers Otto von Machland bestand sie aus dem 5
stöckigen Palas (Wohnturm) und dem Bergfried (Rundturm). Diese
beiden über 40 Meter hohen Gebäude sind durch ihre exponierte Lage
auf dem Granitmassiv schon von Weitem zu sehen.
History:
The castle was built in 12. century by Otto
von Machland who owned entire Upper Austria. At that time it was a
fortress consisting of two towers of over 40 meters in height.
These two impressive buildings, one round and one rectangular,
still exist in the very same shape today.
