BERNECEBARÁTI
A little village in the valley of the
Bernece Stream on the northern slope of the Börzsöny Hills
consisting of the settlements of Baráti and Bernece that were
already significant in the Arpadian Age, the two settlements
were joined in 1928. The Hornbeam, Acacia, Oak and in the
higher areas Beech groves of the Börzsöny Hills are made even
more interesting by the varied fauna. Roman Catholic
Church: Built for the Assumption of Mary, the medieval,
towered, single nave Baroque church was built on the hill with
medieval encircling walls.
