Paulite Monastery Ruin
The only monastic order with Hungarian foundation was the Paulite.
They found home on all area of Historical Hungary. They especially
liked the Dunántúl area. They established lot of
monasteries in the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, only a some of them
are visible nowadays. The Paulite Monastery Ruin near Salföld
is in a good condition. Is it thanks to the careful protection of
historical buildings. The view of this gothic Ruin is fascinating.
Approach
Let your car at the cemetery of Salföld. (N 46° 49,736' E
17° 33,100' 144 m) The Monastery is 20-25 minutes on foot.
Direction boards and the ’red streak’ blaze lead to the
Ruin. If you don’t want to walk: You can go with bicycle or
car on a relatively good quality dirt road to the Monastery.
It’s not recommended after rainy weather.
Place of the box
Search it under a „roof” to the south from the
Monastery.
