Geocache Description:

Welcome to Team GraMon's Sixth Cache
Here is a great display of Windmills
The first part of this cache is to show the various styles of Windmills and how water was obtained and moved before electricity. A multi with a dreaded nano micro at WP2 just for a bit of extra fun.

The History
A windmill is a machine that is powered by the energy of the wind. It is designed to convert the energy of the wind into more useful forms using rotating blades or fans. The term also refers to the structure it is commonly built on. In much of the world, windmills served originally to grind grain, though later applications included pumping water and, more recently, generation of electricity.
The development of the water-pumping windmill was the major factor in allowing farming on land which was otherwise devoid of readily accessible water, these were also called Wind Pumps, although they have since been mostly replaced by electric power or diesel/petrol pumps. The Windmills were made in various ways and many styles and numbers of blades or fans were used as will be seen at the Windmill display at WP1. Many Windmill - Windpumps still remain, but mainly in a derelict state, however some have been or are being restored. They have also now become of interest to Windmill collectors.

The Cache

WP1 - The Windmills
Go to the above co-ordinates and count the number of blades on the shorter [in height] of the "Iron Turbine Windmill made by Mast Foos and Co - Springfield O"
If 6 blades go to S36 23.926 E145 28.645
If 8 blades go to S36 23.875 E145 28.258
If 10 blades go to S36 23.897 E145 28.824
If 12 blades go to S36 23.456 E145 28.789

WP2 - The Dreaded Nano
Find a nano at this location, placed here to add to the fun, to find the final co-ordinates of the cache. This and the final location also show ways water is moved from farm to farm and around farms - although a lot of these are now days being buried using large underground pipes to prevent water loss from leakage and evaporation.

Enjoy!
