For The Record Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

hershco: It's been a great run for our For The Record geocache! Originally started as part of a feature article on the geocaching hobby in hmb, the monthly magazine for the Half Moon Bay Review, we've maintained the cache for about 3 years (having to replace it twice due to theft.)

The time has come to move on and let someone else put a new cache somewhere in the vicinity. Where will that be? Get your GPS device ready to find it!

Cheers,
Hershco

Geocache Description:

Located in the town of Half Moon Bay, it's in a paved location but not directly in view. Once found, the cache is easily retrievable.

The cache has been stolen twice so far. The latest version is a small clear plastic Rubbermaid container -- 6" x 6" x 6", clear on all sides with a clear plastic lid and a red rubber seal. The original contents are a logbook, two pens, several packets of caffeine powder and a disposable camera.

Take a picture of yourself and anyone else on your team. Once the shots are used up, selected pictures from the roll will be published, online, on the Half Moon Bay Review (the local weekly newspaper) website: www.hmbreview.com

I recently upped the difficulty rating for this cache by .5 based on Three Cent Stamp's log entry -- it's not that the cache is hard to find but, because it's near a church, a bed and breakfast inn, and a heavily traveled intersection, there are often lots of muggles about -- so the trick is to snag it without being seen. (It's probably what led to the original cache being swiped in early May, 2007...)

Disposable camera last switched out November 11, 2010
