This cache is being placed in keeping with the spirit inherent in “The Merit Badge Challenge” (GC19R3J).
To fulfill the requirements for the Hiking Merit Badge, an Eagle Scout candidate must complete five hikes, each on a different day, and each of at least ten continuous miles, plus a hike of 20 continuous miles in one day. This cache which is located on an extensive network of interconnected snowmobile trails, could provide an opportunity to satisfy one or more of these hiking trips.
The cache has been placed just off a snowmobile trail which tends to be quite busy in the winter, so please be mindful of the traffic as you walk the trail during the winter months.
Most of the year parking is available at N43 03.949 and W071 23.840. During the winter when the parking area has not been plowed, there is room for one or two cars across the street.
