Geocache Description:

The Eastgate clock is the most recognizable feature of Chester and is reputedly the second most photographed clock in the world after Big Ben. On that basis there is a fair chance that you will appear in someone’s holiday snaps while looking for this cache.

There is an excellent information sheet on the Eastgate clock at:

Eastgate Clock history

The cache itself is a magnetic nano thrust into my hands by the West Viewers and Team Marzipan at a recent event on the basis that they wanted nothing to do with it. They challenged me to hide it somewhere so here it is.

A few things to bear in mind while hunting for this:

a) It’s magnetic

b) It’s a nano

c) It’s very close to the wall of the HSBC

d) It’s not in a "petal"

e) It’s accessible from the City Walls and you can enjoy the view while hunting

f) There is no need to climb on anything (that would be stupid)

g) GPS coverage isn’t very good

h) There is no pen so bring your own and just write your initials and a date so I don’t have to replace it every time I go into Chester. Also don't forget that a piece of paper has two sides.

i) It’s tourist central during daylight hours in summer so be discreet

j) Approach this logically. Think where would be the best place to hide this so it doesn’t get muggled or accidentally dislodged (fingers crossed).

k) Be careful replacing it.

That’s it.
