Geocache Description:

A quick cache and dash at the Carter Bar (A68) border crossing

Fàilte gu Alba means "Welcome to Scotland", a seemingly obvious thing to say to travellers crossing the border from south to north. Not obvious enough for the Scottish National Party though who recently spent £125,000 coming up with this slogan for passengers arriving at Scotland's airports!

The border crossing at Carter Bar is a busy spot, with a steady stream of travellers breaking their journey and taking pictures. There are two car parks here, one on each side of the road. The cache should be approached from the western side, when crossing from England into Scotland. If heading south, it might be better to park on the eastern side and cross the road by foot at the exit to the car park. However if doing so be very careful as its not an easy place to cross and the traffic travels very quickly.

Despite the name, the cache is actually in England. It should be an easy find - just watch out for muggles!
