Schloss Seyring

Seyring war bis 1848 Sitz einer Grundherrschaft. Für das Jahr 1442 ist erstmals ein Herrensitz erwähnt: Johann von Ehrenfels verkaufte die "Veste Sayringh" an Georg von Kuenring-Seefeld. Die Kuenringer blieben in der Folge bis in die ersten Jahre des 16. Jahrhunderts die Besitzer der Herrschaft Seyring. Die nächsten bekannten Grundeigentümer, die Familie Trautson, sind seit 1619 als Herrschaftseigentümer nachweisbar. Nachdem die Familie Auersperg im 18. Jahrhundert für kurze Zeit die Grundherrschaft innegehabt hatte, verkauften sie sie 1797 an das Schweizer Geschlecht der Beroldingen. Sie blieben bis 1848 Grundherren von Seyring, nach der Grundentlastung besaßen sie Schloss und Gut Seyring noch bis 1917. Damals wurde das Gut verkauft, das Schloss fand als Ganzes keinen Käufer, die einzelnen Flügel wurden daher getrennt veräußert und fanden verschiedenste Verwendungen: im Schlossgarten errichtete man ein Fabriksgebäude, ein anderer Teil des Parks ist von der Gemeinde Gerasdorf als Sportanlage gestaltet worden. Der Schlossbau in seiner heutigen Gestalt wurde Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts im klassizistischen Stil errichtet.

Seyring was until 1848 part of one Grundherrschaft (absolute). From the year 1442 for the first time a manor was mentioned: Johann von Ehrenfels sold the "Veste Sayringh" to George von Kuenring-Seefeld. The Kuenringer remained up to the first years of the 16th Century as the owners of the reign Seyring. The next well-known landowners were since 1619 the family Trautson. After them the family Auersperg in the 18th Century had the Grundherrschaft for a short time. In 1797 they had sold their Grundherrschaft to the Swiss sex of Beroldingen. They stayed until 1848 as lords of Seyring, after they hade sold some parts of the land, they could keep the castle and manor Seyring until 1917. At that time there was noone to be found to buy the whole castle-area so the estate was sold, the various wings were therefore sold separately and various uses were found: in the castle garden was built a factory building, another part of the park was designed as a sports facility by the municipality Gerasdorf. The castle in its present form was completed by the end of the 18th Century in classical style.
