Welcome to Xtream Evil by Night Ranger

Overview

This cache takes place almost entirely in a large trench with extreme terrain changes, mud, and a stream. Please do not attempt this cache alone. This cache is different from any cache that I have ever seen, I hope it works well for us all. This is what I will call a challenge cache. This is a very fun and intense challenge that will hopefully inspire others to do similar type caches. This is a multi cache with X number of stages. Please read the entire cache description page before attempting this cache.

The Task

During this cache, you will collect equipment from different stages, and use that equipment to construct a structure in order to retrieve one particular stage. Each stage will contain coordinates for the next stage. Some stages have equipment, others have clues, some have none, none have both. The final is a large ammo box with some swag. Please trade equally. There is a FTF prize that is very cool!

The First Stage

Due to the nature of this cache, only one group of cachers on the course at a time. In order to facilitate this, I have included a card at the first stage that has the coordinates to the second stage. When you find the first stage, please take that card with you while you are on the course. This way, if another cacher sees that there is no card in Stage 1, he will know that he must come back later. I hope this will eliminate any overlap. Remember though, once you are done, please return the card to Stage 1.

SAFETY NOTE!

All equipment provided is used at your own discretion. All equipment must be inspected prior to use to ensure the participants safety. I have supplied the equipment but it is the cachers responsibility to use it safely. I have taken steps to ensure that the equipment is kept in the best conditions possible. Please let me know if any equipment needs to be replaced or repaired. A safety harness is optional but recommended for this cache. I have not included any safety harnesses.

The Instructions for the build

Not a builder. That's OK! I have included detailed step by step instructions on how to construct this structure. When you find these instructions (Just take one baggie with the instructions, no clue here), you have all you need to proceed to the build area-the coordinates are on the sheet. It is not a very complicated build and should be able to be built rather quickly. New to knots? That is OK too. I have detailed pictures showing exactly how to tie the two required knots-The bowline and the Tautline hitch. There are plenty of places online that you can find detailed information on tying these before you go! And finally, I have made it so that you can keep the instruction sheet for your very own.

The Return of Equipment

All equipment (except for the Instructions-you can keep those) must be returned to it's original position so that the next cacher will have the same opportunity to find this cache. Replacing the stages is such an important part of completing this task that logs will be deleted if this step is not done. Thanks for your cooperation.

Time Requirement

This hunt will require travel of more than 1/2 mile, in extreme terrain and it will take at least 2 hours to complete with the new any order option. T0pDawg went from start to finish in 2 hours 12 minutes, with me there to help at various stages. Please plan your time accordingly. Thanks TopDawg! Let me know how long it took you in your log.

Logging Requirements

I am requiring that a picture be taken at the completion of construction with at least one member of your party, on the structure. I would prefer that each member take a photo on the structure but am not requiring that.

Better coordinates or ideas?
