For too long has the Battle of the coasts been raging. Geocachers now have a means to prove once and for all, Which coast is indeed better!

For those living on the coasts, it has become difficult to know how far a cache might actually be. A new cache for example might appear to only be 4km from home, but require an 80km drive to acquire.

Alliances have been forged, members have switched sides, and caches have been placed just as a matter to annoy the other side. The Final Battle of the coasts will be decided here, in the Holland river, the Queensway crossing, The Southern entry point for invading coasters to cross these cursed border waters.

What you seek is a film canister - Bring your own pen!

So the geek started compiling a bookmark list called Winter Accessible Boat Caches (WABC for short) and Skyecat mentioned this on. Given that the geek is off from its normal duties this week, arrangements were made to search for this one before Mother Nature breathed too heavily upon her icy blanket. So as the geek started tossing and turning organic debris, Skyecat motioned to something that had caught her eye. Thankfully, with Mother Nature's frozen surface beneath the geek's feet, the cache was quickly retrieved and signed. This one makes for a great winter excursion. TFTC!

Oh and being the abstaining coward that the geek is, it declines to choose either the wrong or right coast as it is afraid of the repercussions of choosing sides. Like Swiss cheese, the geek's attitude remains neutral but full of holes!

Made arrangements to meet up with entogeek this morning as I had to be in Keswick later in the morning and he also had plans to go north west. I arrived first by a few minutes and scouted out the best place to park and make our approach. Once he got there it was a quick hike to the cache. I made the offer to be the monkey today but my services were not needed as the ice made for a much firmer approach then the summer one.

Now as for picking sides, I will have to take the abstaining coward route as I live on the north shore of the bigger lake to the south and do my fair share of caching on both sides of Lake Simcoe though more on the "Right Coast" then the other one. TFTC

I had this one on the radar the same day as "Eugenia", but timing didn't work. Today, I had zero plans to cache and didn't even have local caches in the Oregon.
(I haven't updated it from a few days in Guelph, yet).
Before leaving the SF6 meeting, Elf pleaded for me to go caching with her, Rainbow & TT.
I had stuff to do (picking up an ice cream cake for someone's birthday today) and was supposed to meet someone in Barrie.
I said "Sorry..." at which point Elf then attached a Travel Slug to my coat zipper (!) and informed me that I would have to show up to return it at the Treehouse..!
Well, the plans changed as I reached 400 & 88; I had limited time to get things done for the afternoon - but if I hurried - I could make the find - and I was 15 minutes from the cache - so off I went.
I didn't expect it to be "tough to get to" once I got to it.. and the rating IS suitable... (at least for me, anyway!) even with the winter weather removing the need for the canoe!
Quick 5 minute there, 2 minute search, 2 minute acquire, 5 minute out!
Please chalk another up for the Wrong Coast!
This cache *completes* my "3" difficulty rating on the D/T chart! FINALLY!!!!!!!! (This is the FIRST "complete" line on the D/T for me... why it's been SO crucial to get this one!)
Great cache. Thanks muchly!

First cache of the day and it was a bit unusual... we (Black Thunder, Jasper & I) saw a snow mobile and a motorcycle. You don't see motorcycles out on lakes very often.

Thanks for the cache.
