Hronské predmostie – Operácia Südwind
Málo ludí na Slovensku vie, že jeden z najväcších bojov medzi Cervenou armádou a nemeckou armádou sa odohral práve v okolí Štúrova, pri Hrone. Na mieste osloboditelských bojov bol postavený pamätník, ktorý sa nachádza priamo pri moste cez Hron, asi 2 km od obce Kamenín. Z pamätníka je nádherný výhlad na okolie.
Bridge-head of Hron river – Südwind operation
Just a few people in Slovakia know, that one of the biggest fightings in WW2 in Slovakia between Red and German army occured in the Štúrovo region, near by Hron river. On the place of the liberation fights was built a memorial, which is situated directly near the bridge over Hron river, 2 km from Kamenín municipality. There is a beautiful view from the memorial.
