Prima tappa dell'itinerario fra i castelli della Lomellina
Arrivando nel paese di Scaldasole, da qualsiasi direzione arriviate, andate nella piazza principale, appunto quella del castello e lì parcheggiate.
L’epoca di costruzione è fra il X ed il XV secolo,il nucleo originale del castello fu eretto tra la fine del X ed il XII secolo. Il complesso, con le sue sette torri medioevali, le volte e i camini rinascimentali, alcune sale ottocentesche, fu visitato da illustri personaggi: nel 1491 Isabella d'Aragona, nel 1497 l'imperatore Massimiliano I d'Asburgo e nel 1533 Carlo V; nel XIX secolo Camillo di Cavour e diversi altri statisti del tempo. Nel 1404 Ardengo Folperti, alto dignitario visconteo, fece erigere la piazza d’arme , mentre il castello divenne la dimora signorile. Nella seconda metà del secolo i marchesi Malaspina, lo abbellirono con un portico ed una loggia. La proprietà del castello e del feudo nel 1456 fu acquisita dai Pico della Mirandola e nel 1461 dai Malaspina per atto di successione. Il cardinale Tolomeo Gallio, segretario di Stato di Gregorio XIII, sistemò il giardino fastosamente e fece costruire una scalinata in sasso che scende ad occidente, adornata da due statue. A poca distanza dall’ingresso settentrionale il prelato fece costruire delle bellissime scuderie, ancor oggi ben conservate.
Una sala del castello, visitabile, è riservata alla raccolta archeologica Antonio Strada, ispettore onorario alle antichità per la Lomellina, comprendente pezzi di varia tipologia ed epoca, dall’età neolitica al periodo longobardo.
Guardando il castello, dirigetevi a destra verso la destinazione finale. Sulla strada verso il cache troverete un bel laghetto in cui si pratica la pesca sportiva e sul bordo del quale ci si può fermare a fare un pic-nic ( c’è una veranda con panche e tavoli).
Il cache è nascosto poco distante,dietro un muro,tra dei massi di marmo.
Il cache è un contenitore di plastica e contiene originariamente:Logbook+Stashnote-Il gatto Felix- Santa Claus –Jo Condor-Travel Bug Jeep-Non c’è matita.
Arriving at the village Scaldasole,go to the main square,(just the castle’s square) and park there.
The age of construction is between the X and the XV century. The core of the castle was erected between the end of the X and XII century. The building, with its seven towers, vaults and fireplaces, was visited by many important personalities: in 1491 Isabel of Aragon, in 1497 Maximilian emperor of Absburg and in 1533 Carl V; in the XIX century Camillo di Cavour and various other statesmen of that time.
In 1404 Ardengo Folperti, high visconteo dignitary, built the drill-ground, while the castle became the owner home. In the second half of the century marquises Malaspina, embellished it with a porch and one loggia. The property of the castle in 1456 was acquired by Pico della Mirandola and in 1461 by the Malaspina. Tolomeo Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio secretary of State of Gregorio XIII, arranged the garden with magnificence and built a stairway, adorned with two statues. Very close to the northern entrance the prelate built the beautiful stud-farm, still today in good conditions.
In a large room, which can be visited ,there is the archaeological collection of Antonio Strada, honorary inspector to the antiquities for the Lomellina, with pieces of various typology and age, from the neolithic age to the longobard period.
Facing the castle, head for the right towards the final destination. On the road towards the cache you will find a beautiful small lake with swans, ducks and small geese, where you can have a rest or a pic-nic (there is a veranda with benches).
The cache is hidden very close, behind a wall, between marble rocks.
