Hald Sø er med sine 31 meter Danmarks næstdybeste sø. Fra
naturens hånd er den skabt som en stor, dyb, kold og klarvandet sø
med et meget alsidigt plante- og dyreliv og et vandmiljø i god
balance. En rigtig naturperle. Den blev derfor tidligt udpeget til
et såkaldt særligt naturvidenskabeligt referenceområde.
Sådan havde søen det op til 1950’erne. Men i løbet af
1960’erne gik det galt: Søen blev grøn om sommeren og
vandplanterne og dyrene gik tilbage. Miljøet i søen var i ubalance.
En uholdbar tilstand for den tidligere så flotte sø, som der skulle
gøres noget ved.
Stat, amt, kommune og lokale gik sammen. Fra midten af
1980’erne og indtil i dag er der gjort en stor indsats for,
at søens miljø igen skal blive som i de gode gamle dage. Og vi er
godt påvej. Miljøfolk fra hele Europa besøger hvert år Hald Sø for
at studere denne vellykkede redningsaktion for en af Danmarks
flotteste søer.
Denne ilttank er kernen i det kendte iltningsprojekt af Hald Sø,
- "Det kunstige åndedrætsforsøg".
Iltningsprojektet startede i 1985, hvor søen var meget påvirket af
næringsstoffer. Man har siden pumpet ren ilt fra denne tank via
slanger ud til de dybeste steder i søen.
Ilten gør, at søens vand nu igen er meget klart i sommerhalvåret.
Samtidig bevirker ilten, at søens rige dyreliv kan leve på de dybe
steder i søen.
Man havde fra starten håbet, at man kunne indstille iltningen helt
inden årtusindskiftet. Det har dog vist sig, at søen desværre endnu
ikke kan klare sig selv.
Tanken indeholder 15 m flydende ren ilt (-183° C), svarende til ca.
en uges forbrug i sommerhalvåret.
Cachen er et magnetisk filmhylster, indeholdende logbog og

Hald Sø is with its 31
meter the next deepest lake in Denmark. From the hand of the
nature, it's created as a big, deep and clear watered lake with a
versatile plant and animal life and a water environment in good
balance. Because of that it was early pointed out for a nature
scientific reference area.
That’s how the lake was up to the 1950. But in the 1960 it
went wrong. In the summertime the lake turned green and the water
plant and the animals went back. The environment in the lake was
out of balance. An unwanted condition for the earlier so
beautifully lake, and something need to be done.
The state, the county, the municipality and local people went
together. From the middle of 1980 and up to today, there had been
done a great work, so that the environment again will be, as it was
in the old days. And it goes forward. Environment people from the
hole of Europe, every year visit Hald Sø, to study the successfully
rescue work for one of Denmark most beautifully lakes.
This oxygen tank is the heart in the known project of oxygen to
Hald Sø. "The artificial respiration".
The oxygen project started in 1985, when the lake was very
influence of nutrients. Since then, there has been pumped pure
oxygen from this tank, via tubes, into the deepest places in the
lake.
The oxygen does, that the water in the lake, now again is clear in
the summer half year. At the same time, the oxygen cause, that the
great animal life again can live in the deep part of the
lake.
From the start the hope was that the oxidation could stop before
the turn of the millennium. It had however shown that the lake
unfortunately still can’t take care of itself.
The tank contain 15³ pure oxygen in liquid form (-183° C), which is
the for one week use in the summer half year.
