The coordinates take you to TVO visitor center on the Nuclear
island of Olkiluoto at Eurajoki.
The visitor center is open every day between 10am-8pm.
Guided tours can be arranged on request between 8am-4pm during
weekdays (booking two weeks in advance).
There is no entrance fee but remind that you might have to prove
your identity when arriving. So bring your ID with you!

At the moment there are two reactors on the island: OL1 and OL2.
OL3 is under construction and is set to produce electricity in
2011. You will have a view from the visitor center to the all three
power plants. OL3 is the biggest construction site in Finland and
one of the biggest in Europe. On your visit you might encounter
some persons or license plates representing the many nationalities
on the construction site. Hectic days at Olkiluoto might continue
since TVO has left an application for the fourth reactor (OL4)
which be dealt by the finnish authorities.
One significant place on Olkiluoto is the Onkalo. The Onkalo is a
deep cave which will be excavated hundreds of meters deep in the
bedrock. The Onkalo is the final repository for the used nuclear
fuel (uranium) which is radiating for a long time. Uranium is also
sealed in capsules in addition to surrounding bedrock.
Final repository of the cache: Inside the vistor center you
will find an elevator open for public. Step in and push the button.
What is the number that you see on the display of the elevator once
the "ride" is finished? The reading is Z. Final coordinates are
N61 14 (886-Z) E021 29 (1138-Z).
Koordinaatit tuovat sinut TVO:n vierailukeskuksen parkkipaikalle,
lähelle Olkiluodon Eurajoella sijaitsevia ydinvoimaloita.
Vierailukeskus on auki päivittäin klo 10-20.
Opastettuja kierroksia järjestetään tilauksesta arkipäivisin klo
8-16 (varaus kaksi viikkoa etukäteen).
Pääsymaksua vierailukeskukseen ei ole, mutta saatat joutua
todistamaan henkilöllisyytesi. Henkkarit varmuuden vuoksi
mukaan, ettei tule hukkareissu!
Vierailukeskus
Tällä hetkellä Olkiluodon saarella on toiminnassa kaksi
ydinreaktoria: Ol1 ja OL2. OL3 on rakenteilla ja sen on määrä
tuottaa sähköä 2011. Näet kaikki kolme voimalaitosta
vierailukeskuksen terassilta käsin. OL3 on Suomen suurin työmaa ja
yksi Euroopan suurimmista. Matkalla voit törmätä moniin
kansallisuuksiin henkilöiden tai rekisterikilpien muodossa, sillä
OL3 työmaalla on parhaimmillaan työntekijöitä kymmenistä eri
maista. Olkiluodon kiireiset päivät saattavat saada jatkoa vielä
OL3:n jälkeenkin, jos Suomen työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö, eduskunta
ja valtioneuvosto päättävät hyväksyä TVO:n hakemuksen neljännestä
reaktorista.
Voimalaitosten lisäksi merkittävä kohde Olkiluodolla on Onkalo.
Onkalo louhitaan syvälle peruskallioon, minne kapseleihin suljettu
ydinpolttoaine varastoidaan.

yleisölle avoimen hissin. Astu sisään ja paina nappia. Mitä hissin
näytöllä lukee "ajelun" päätyttyä? Lukema on Z. Loppupisteen
