Rauma on aina ollut merkittävä satamakaupunki ja merenkulku monissa muodoissaan on ja on aina ollut tärkeää.
Tämä helppo ja lyhyt multi esittelee sinulle pari merenkulkijoihin liittyvää paikkaa Raumalla. Kokonaismatka on alle kilometrin, joten se sujuu kätevimmin kävellen.
Tulet patsaalle, jossa kaksi raumalaista merimiestä purjehtii merelle sydvestit päässä ja sadetakit päällä.

Tulet kauniin rakennuksen eteen, joka valmistui vuonna 1900 Rauman merikoulun tiloiksi. Rakennuksen suunnitteli arkkitehti Otto F. Holm. Raumalla jo 1880 alkanut kansipäällystön koulutus pääsi omiin sille suunniteltuihin tiloihin ja jatkui siinä aina vuoteen 1969 saakka, jolloin merenkulun opetus siirtyi uusiin nykyisiin tiloihin.
Seuraavat 30 vuotta talo toimi Rauman kaupungin nuorisotalona. Kunnostustyöt museokäyttöä varten käynnistyivät keväällä 2000 ja kesällä 2004 tähän taloon avattiin Rauman merimuseo.

Easy basic multi
Rauma has always been significant harbour town and seafaring in all kinds of forms is and has been important. This easy and short multi introduce you a couple of maritime places in Rauma. The trip is less than one kilometre.
The given coordinates lead you to the statue, where you can find the name of the sculptor and the year. Number of “k”-letters is A. The year is B.
The next place you will reach using the coordinates

You will come to the front of beautiful building, which was build in 1900 to be the Rauma Nautical School.
The Rauma Nautical School was established in 1880 and was first located at various addresses around town. The school moved in 1900 into the new purpose-built premises designed by architect Otto F. Holm. Maritime education continued there until 1969 when the new larger building in the harbour was taken into use.
The idea of the Maritime Museum was also popular at the time, but eventually the old school was transformed into a temporary community centre for the next 30 years.
Renovation for museum usage started spring 2000 and summer 2004 the museum was opened to the public.
Study the noticeboard and visit the museum, if you are interested in it.
