The North West Bay River in south Tasmania starts near Longley at an elevation of 235m and flows into North West Bay in the Tasman Sea of the South Pacific Ocean.
The North West Bay River drops around 235m over its 13.8km length.
Please note that there is a lot of private property above the river reserve so please be careful going to or from the hide. If you go via Miandetta Drive there's a walkway between two drive ways that gives you access.
If it' a nice day , take your swimmers as the Margate swimming hole is further downstream , just follow the river.
The kids and I have spend many happy hours down here. It's quiet and peaceful and has abundant wildlife.
