Located at Presque Isle State Park, Erie, PA. Level terrain. No
cost to enter park.
Your cache, the first ever placed at Presque Isle and a green ammo
can, is hidden approximately 280 feet off one of the many trails
located within the State Park. The trail you want is the Dead Pond
Trail which travels away from the beaches. The cache is under a
fallen log and contains many little gifts. Free maps are available
at the Park Office Building within the park, 2-3 miles past the
entrance gate, on the right hand side. We recommend this if you are
not familiar with the park. Let the GPS unit do the work for you on
this cache as the tree cover is light. The signal should be good.
Insect spray is recommend for the mosquitoes and possible
ticks.
Presque Isle State Park offers many things to do, such as swimming,
water sking, boating, cycling, rollerblading, bird watching,
picnicing, and cross-country skiing in the winter. Come and have
fun! Please fill out the log book, take something and leave
something, and put the cache back where you found it. ***Update***
This used to be in a clear Rubbermaid container. Let an animal try
to chew through THIS container!
