Geocache Description:

Camo matchstick container, park in the public parking area east of the buildings near the park

In my job as a 911/dispatcher, I interact with many police and fire agencies. I have started a series by placing a cache near the fire stations to honor the many volunteer and paid departments I have the privilege to dispatch on a daily basis.

The Clayton-Winchester Fire Department has the authorized manpower of 40 firefighters. The area of protection is 72 square miles within the Townships of Clayton and Winchester. The fire department has a mutual aid agreement with the towns of Menasha, Neenah, Vinland, Winneconne Combined, Oshkosh, Algoma, Omro, Boom-Bay, Greenville and Dale.

The First Responders have a roster of 15 current members. The First Responders officially went into service on March 31, 1995. Their first call was taken in April of 1995 and by the years end, they had responded to a total of 52 calls. At the end of 2001, the unit had responded to a total of 665 calls. These calls included medical, trauma and automobile accidents. The Clayton-Winchester First Responders in conjunction with Gold Cross Ambulance respond to emergency calls within the townships of Clayton and Winchester.
