Brackmills is an industrial estate on the edge of Northampton. Not sounding very good so far then... But the estate is hidden from it's surroundings by virtue of being located in a hollow. And around the bland buildings is an area of green parkland, which although it has a rather sanitised appearance, is at least cleaner than many other local areas. This park is relatively unknown beyond those who work nearby, but it offers a pleasant lunchtime escape from the office with some great views over the Northampton skyline.
Parking is available at N52 13.083 W000 51.127 - but watch the narrow entrance!
The terrain is fine for most of the walk - uphill, but paved. But the last few feet require some scrambling and nettle avoidance measures. Gloves and grippy boots are recommended therefore. Some stealth will be necessary during midweek lunchtimes, at weekends it is a lot quieter, with only the occasional dog walker or fisherman to avoid.
While at Brackmills, why not try Brackmills Panorama (GC15G3Y) by JaandJa, or my own Sorted (GC1690A).
