This is our second cache in our hometown of Wakefield. Our first, Wakefield Wanderings (GCWD86), placed in a well travelled area by the lake, was unfortunately muggled twice, and is now archived. This one, being a little more out of the way, should be safe from accidental discovery. We decided to place this cache after reading an article on Geocaching written by the town library, for the local paper, and seeing that there were no active caches in Wakefield.
This cache is a 2.7 quart Lock & Lock container. The initial contents:
- Toys (Clifford, Curious George, Roller blader, Hello Kitty necklace)
- Whistle
- Playing cards
- Unused CharlieCard
- Two AA batteries
- CRIB Remnant CD
- Pens, Pencil, Log Book, Stash Note
- Un-activated USA Geocoin First-Time-Finder prize
This listing contains a waypoint for suggested parking at the adjacent Mapleway Playground & Ball Fields. The park is open sunrise to sunset. Enter the Town Forest on the path behind the green chain-link backstop. The trail is fairly flat, but there is some steep terrain off trail to reach the location of the cache.
This cache is in the woods in New England, so there are bugs like mosquitoes and ticks during warm weather. There is also poison ivy here, but none growing near the location of the cache.
