Topography…what’s that? This cache explores the
vertical limit of Sterne’s Woods. The first stage will
vividly illustrate the existing water table of the fen. The second
stage is only 350 feet away but is over 100 feet UP. A particular
tree will leave you smelling pine-fresh and possessing the final
coordinates.
All of the coordinates take this form:
N42° 15.###’ W088° 18.###’
A military dog tag at each stage will provide the north decimals
over the west decimals for the next stage.
UPDATE: As of 5-28-11 the Vertical Limit is
slightly less vertical and much less limited. A third lower tag has
been added to the tree that all vertical hikers should be able to
read from the ground. Adrenaline junkies are welcome to climb up to
the second tag that was placed in 2008 or all the way up to the
original tag that was found by
Badger Cachers and
Rocky is a Very Good Doggie.
