Pikkalan lähde on vanha terveyslähde, joka on löydetty vuonna 1802. Lähteelle on rakennettu pitkospuut, joita pitkin Lappeen kylpylän asiakkaita kuljetettiin vettä hörppimään. Tätä nykyä nämä pitkospuut ovat kuitenkin hajonneet, ja paikalle joutuu kulkemaan melkoista ryteikköä pitkin. Lähteen vesi on vieläkin terveellistä: se parantaa kaikki vaivat ja nuorentaa juojaansa. Kenties tästä syystä alkuasukkaat ovat piilottaneet sen metsän keskelle ja paikkaa suojelevat pygmit myrkkynuolineen. Kätkörasia on kookkaahko tötsä, johon mahtuu läjä matkalaisia. Lumi peittää sen talvella, joten silloin en suosittele tulemaan. Kannattaa myös kesälläkin jättää parhaat vaatteet kotiin, ja laittaa jalkaan kumsuappoot.

The cache description is a relic from a time when there was no path to the spring ;)
The cache is hidden near Pikkala spring. The spring water is thought to be healthy, and possess some kind of healing powers. The patients of Lappeenranta spa used to be transported to the site to drink from the spring and have a picnic at the site. Nowadays the path is overgrown, and I suggest you bring a machete or such with you. Also, the machete might come in handy if you encounter the pygmies guarding the spring with their poisonous arrows.
The cache container is large enough to house a pile of coins and bugs. Snow will cover the cache in winter. Leave your best clothes home when going for the cache. And take rubber boots along. BYOP
