Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the scenic and historic Hopkins Forest in Williamstown, MA. There are 2500 acres in the forest which touches 3 states; MA, NY and VT. From Rt. 7 take Bulkley St. westward to the top and then park at N 42 43.411 W 073 13.413 near the Rosenburg Center. Walk about 100 meters to the Rosenburg Center and you will find some great information about the area along with a trail map. You will need to go approximately 1.55 miles to the cache location from the parking area. You can take either trail at the beginning of your journey as they both intersect about .83 miles in (left side of barn is the shortest). Once you get to the intersection you will bare left and go down the trail to the west. Once you cross the first bridge you will go up a short way to a trail intersection at 1.5 miles. You have to watch carefully for the trail off to the left as it is hardly used and is not marked on trail maps located at the center. You will go over two smaller bridges to a small shack. Only a short bit of bush whacking is needed (once you get to the old shack). The cache is 5” x 3” x 2” (so there is not a lot of room) and painted camo. We would like the cache to be used for trading geocoins and small TB’s only please. There is a small log book and we are starting the cache out with two geocoins and one TB. Please put the cache back the way you find it.

Our GPS was a little jumpy so check the hint if you need to.

If you’re really ambitious finish the whole figure 8 loop for a round trip of 4.3 miles.

Enjoy!

We don't want this to turn into a TB prison so go ahead and grab one even if you don't have a TB to trade! Thanks

Update for winter - These trails are great for both cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
