Tenth Anniversary
We placed this cache to celebrate our 10 year wedding
anniversary. Although we haven't been caching for nearly that long,
it is an activity we both (along with our little girl) enjoy doing,
so we thought it was a fitting way to mark the occasion.
Picture Cache?
When looking at other cache pages, I always enjoy looking at the
pictures people have posted. Whether they are pictures of fellow
cachers, or just pictures of the scenery around the cache, they are
a moment in time captured by a camera. I've had this idea for a
cache ever since we did Western Mass Clan's
UMass Tour #2 - Shaping Minds. I thought it was a really unique
idea...so I'm stealing it.
Inside the cache is a disposable camera. When you find the cache,
along with the standard "signing of the log", we would like it if
you took a picture of yourself or your group. When the camera fills
up, we'll have the pictures posted on the cache page for all to
enjoy!
The Cache
This cache has been hidden in a small area of conservation land
in the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield. The trailhead is right
off of Wilbraham Rd, a very busy street. Recommended parking is on
Winterset Dr. Trailhead is directly across the street. Terrain
rating is a 2.5 because of a small stream. There is a rock
bridge/stepping stones, but depending on the water level, it could
be tricky.
The cache you are looking for is a standard, camoed, 8X5
lock-and-lock. Cache has been stocked with a poncho, mosquito
wipes, glow sticks, a wiffle golfball, an extra pen, a rubber ball,
a car/pencil sharpener, a Tim Wakefield pin, and a Red Sox jelly
bracelet.
First to Find prize is a gift certificate for a half gallon of ice
cream.
Say Cheese!
Don't forget to take a picture before you leave! And if you take
the last picture, please make a note of it in your log so the
camera can be replaced.
Caution: High Traffic Area
These trails are heavily used by people (especially kids) from
the area. Please re-hide the cache as you found it. Thank you.
