In the
village of Agua de Pau, in the so-called Pico da Figueira, was
built in 1932, the Chapel of Our Lady of Mount
St..
In the same area, the girl
Maria Joana Tavares of Singing and a friend witnessed apparitions
of the Virgin. On July 5, 1918,
about twelve thousand people who
attended were there, too, the miracle of the apparition of Mary.
The chapel, built by the parents of the girl Maria
Joana,
has a hexagonal body and a single
altar with the image of Our Lady of Mount. In 1998, with the
consent of the Bishop of the Azores,
was built in a Cross
Luminosa hill behind the Hermitage, for Christ Young Catholic
Association.
