This multi explores some fields owned by the town of Medfield, and presents an alternative to the more common forest walk. I have found it particularly pleasant in the long shadows and slanting light of late spring afternoons, when a fresh breeze often ripples the long grasses and fills the spirit with gladness. But enough sentiment. On to more serious business!
With GPS in hand, leave the large paved parking lot and strike out across the fields. Go the way that seems most pleasant, following paths and trusting your feet. Breath deep and relax. What could be simpler? A little light bushwhacking may be required. Some hides are in sensitive areas. Please preserve the purity of these areas by not breaking any branches or disturbing any stone walls. Besides, it is not necessary, as all waypoints are visible and accessible from at least one vantage point, except for stage two and the final. The final contains logbook, pencils, sharpeners, but no treasure or trinkets. There might be additional room for small travel bugs. Use caution if crossing the tracks, and watch for the occasional train. Open from dawn to dusk. Seize the day! This post was edited and updated 8/8/20.
