Für die lange Zeit der Bauarbeiten besuche alternativ die Trümmerfrau bei N51 02.857 E13 44.522. Zu ihren Füßen findest Du drei Jahreszahlen. Subtrahiere von der ersten 1332 und du erhälst "abx", subtrahiere von der zweiten 1408 und du erhälst "cdy". Was Du damit machst, steht weiter unten.

Man sagt er verkörpere den Schutzpatron Herkules - der Goldene Rathausmann - auf dem höchsten Turm in der Dresdner Altstadt.
Trotz des Caches GCJ3YZ findet dieser Turm viel zu wenig Beachtung, obwohl man von seiner Aussichtsplattform in 68m Höhe einen fantastischen Ausblick auf die Dächer von Dresden hat.
Für Aufsehen sorgte der Rathausturm nur, als am am 01. Juli 2006 der 4,90m große Rathausmann in neuem Glanz auf seine alte Position gehoben wurde. Zwei Jahre lang fehlte "Herkules" im Stadtbild von Dresden.
Aufgrund der Cachedichte liegt der Startpunkt an einem potentiellen Parkplatz. An der oben genannten Startkoordinate kann man (kostenpflichtig) parken bzw. befinden sich Straßenbahn- und Bushaltestellen in unmittelbarer Nähe, ihr könnt aber auch gleich zum Eingang des Innenhofes bei N51 02.902 E013 44.476 gehen.
Es gibt nun 2 Varianten, die Finalkoordinaten zu ermitteln:
- 1. Im Innenhof befindet sich ein Fahrstuhl, der bis zur Kasse fährt. Findet in diesem Fahrstuhl die Koordinaten in Form von "GC .ab0 .cd9". Oben angekommen könnt ihr gegen ein überschaubares Eintrittsgeld in einem weiteren Fahrstuhl zur Aussichtsplattform gelangen.
- 2. Die klassische Zahlensammelvariante: Dazu müsst ihr nicht ins Gebäude und nicht auf den Turm! Dreht eine Runde um das Rathaus und ermittelt die Koordinaten aus den folgenden Werten:
Findet Bacchus reitend auf einem trunkenen Esel. Zählt die Zähne im Unterkiefer des Esels = a. Am südlichen (!) Eingang des geschlossenen Ratskellers befindet sich ein bronzenes Schild. Die Anzahl der Kirschen auf diesem sei b. Aus der Jahreszahl benötigen wir nur die letzte Stelle für c. Über der "Goldenen Pforte" des Gebäudes sind Steinreliefs mit Wappen von Städten zu sehen, die im zweiten Weltkrieg ein ähnliches Schicksal wie Dresden erfuhren. Zieht von der Anzahl dieser Wappen 2 ab und ihr erhaltet d.
Zum Cache müsst ihr ein kleines Stück laufen. Ihr findet ihn bei N51 02.ab0 E13 44.cd9; sucht von Osten aus (Herkules steht dann rechts von Euch)!

PS: für Variante 1 sind die Öffnungszeiten des Rathausturmes wichtig; von Mai bis Oktober täglich von 10 bis 18Uhr (letzter Einlass 17:30Uhr), während der Bauarbeiten vermutlich meist geschlossen, Eintritt 3,00Euro (ermäßigt 1,70Euro).

Cache "At the golden Herkules' feet"
It is said he embodies Hercules as a patron - the golden town hall man - on the highest tower of the old town of Dresden. But only a few people are aware of the town hall's tower even though there is a great view from the 68m high platform. It only caused sensation when the golden town hall man was moved back to his place on the top of the building after reconstruction in July 2006. For two years the "Herkules" was missing in the townscape of Dresden.
At the above given coordinates you can park your car (parking fee) or arrive by tram or bus. Or go directly to the entrance of the courtyard to the town hall tower at N51 02.902 E013 44.476.
You have now 3 possibilities to get the coordinates of the final cache location:
- 1st In the inner courtyard you'll find an elevator. Enter it and find inside the coordinates given in the scheme "GC .ab0 .cd9" during you go up to the counter for the entrance fee.
- 2rd If you don't want to go up or if it's closed you can determine the coordinates by collecting some data during walking around the tow hall building. Look for Bacchus riding on a drunken donkey. Count the number of teeth of the donkey's lower jaw = a. At the southern (!) entrance of the closed restaurant "Ratskeller" you'll find a bronze plate. The number of sherrys on it is b. From the date given at the plate we just need the last digit. It tells us c. Above the entrance (the one with the lions in front of, called "Goldene Pforte") there are some stone reliefs - city coat of arms - of towns with a similar destiny like Dresden during world war two. Count the number of the reliefs and subtract 2 for d.
For the cache you have to walk a bit. You'll find it at N51 02.ab0 E13 44.cd9; search from the east side (Herkules is on your right hand side than); please take it upwards...
