ned på Fyn. Kl. 11.56 eksploderede B-17 42-31126 ved gården
“Lykkessæde” nær Bellinge, 2 af besætningen blev dræbt
og 8 overlevede. Flyet kom fra USAAF 388. Bomber Group/ 560. Bomber
Squadron. Besætningen kom alle fra USA.
Flyet var sammen med 300 andre bombefly på vej over Danmark
for at bombe ved Lutzkendorf i Tyskland

third cache in a serial of MEMORIAL STONE, it is made I memorial of
the allied flyers who has paid with their lives, so that we can
live in a free and democratic world. 1160 airman have rested or now
rest in Denmark. 560 have been prisoners of war, only 100 has
escaped.
The 20. Feb. 1944, 3 piece of B-17 (Flying Fortress) was shut
down on Funen, at 11.56 the B-17 42-31126 exploded and the wreck
fell around the farm “Lykkessæde” near Bellinge. 2 of members of
the crew was killed in the crash, and 8 members survived, and all
of them was captured, and sent to Germany.
The plane was from the USAAF 388. Bomber Group/560 Squadron,
