Cub Scout Pack 502 Traditional Cache

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Cub Scout Pack 502 to find out about the status of this cache on March 31, 2011. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Geocache Description:

This cache was Muggled....We will try to replace it soon.

It was originally hidden by the Cub Scouts of Pack 502 in Woburn, MA. It is located along one of the many trails at beautiful Mary Cummings Park in Burlington and Woburn, MA. The trails can be muddy but are in good shape. Please park at the water tower trail head at 42°28.807N 071°11.755W. The cache is located about 0.28 miles from that location.

This cache is a regular sized ammo box the cache contains some Cub Scout patches and a lot of toys for young kids. The primary reason for placing this cache was to make people aware of this great public land.

In 1930, the City of Boston accepted over 200 acres of land in Burlington and Woburn under the following condition: "in trust nevertheless for the following purposes and uses: To hold and keep the same forever open as a public pleasure ground, and to maintain and care for the same in a suitable manner in accordance with that purpose"

Friends of Mary Cummings Park Inc was founded in 2007 as a non-profit corporation in order to form a group whose sole purpose was to defend Mary Cummings Park from the pressures of development and to provide an organization which can help bring a vision for sustainable use of the park while respecting its historical recreational uses and natural environment.
