Geocache Description:

The initial coordinates should bring you to a small park bench at Muggle Central. The preferred access method to reach this spot is by bike or on foot or by golf cart. There is a single parking spot right at the end of Solway Rd, but other than that you are on your own as parking is scarce. This one you must take extra care at the final GZ, footing can be very treacherous. Enjoy but be careful!

Welcome to Grumpy Ol’ Troll 2, (Ideal Cache-In, Trash-Out location)

If you’ve made it this far you should see the park bench. Don’t look under it, the cache is not there. This is a grueling adventure you’re undertaking so have a bit of a rest and take a seat!

Are you comfy? Can we get you anything?

It’s a nice little spot to sit and admire the Malvern Valley sprawled out before you. Or view the wildlife below you along Gardiners Creek or watch some nice (and often times not so nice) drives from the 17th Tee Box.

But be very aware that muggles abound and come from all directions!!!

The area you are sitting at is the cross-roads of many sorts.
First there are 3 different streets (Solway, Karnak & Ryburne) behind you. There are also 3 different bike paths (Gardiner’s Creek, Anniversary Trail & Scotchman’s Creek Trail), 3 suburbs (Ashburton, East Malvern & Glen Iris), 2 cities (Boroondara & Stonnington) and even 2 train lines (Glen Waverley & Alamein).

So, why Grumpy Ol’ Troll? Well, once you embark on the adventure, you’ll notice a bit of litter that flows downstream with every good rain. This makes the Troll grumpy. Bring some bags and help out our environment, our wildlife and our troll.

This cache consists of a little bit of Maths, a little bit of Sports and a little bit of Nature.

1st Waypoint – Park Bench
=========================
OK, since you’re just sitting there, you can complete the coordinates:

S 37 52’.abc
E 145 04’.xyz

• a is the number of letters in the game that you are looking over.
• b is the number of boards on the bench you’re sitting on less 1.
• c is the number lamps on the street light post over your right shoulder.
• x is the number of strokes taken for an eagle on a Par 3.
• y is equal to the number of arrows in the Recycle symbol.
• z is a snowman to a golfer.

Now, enjoy a nice walk along the north side of Gardiners Creek to the next waypoint. BTW: The owner of this cache collects golf balls so if you find any along the way, feel free to leave them in the cache. Enjoy the adventure!!!

2nd Waypoint – Covered Bridge
=============================
Why do you suppose that this bridge is covered above and on the 1 side? Hmmm! While you're thinking of that, fill in the missing coordinates:

S 37 52’.abc
E 145 04’.xyz

• a is the number that wayward golfers yell from time to time.
• b is the maximum weight load for the bridge. (ie. In tons)
• c is the number of Dodo Birds swimming in Gardiners Creek down below.
• xyz is equal to 12 squared.

Watch out for bikes, muggles and small white round flying projectiles.

3rd Waypoint – Pollution Control sign
=====================================
This location brings awareness to the problem of pollution in our waterways.

S 37 52’.abc
E 145 04’.xyz

• a is the last numeral on the sign.
• b is the number of ‘Q’s on the sign.
• c is the number of times ‘7’ shows up on the sign.
• x is the fourth word on the sign.
• y is the number of letters in the 2nd word on the sign.
• z is the number of ‘W’s on the sign.

Get the next waypoint and take down this phone number and report any pollution you see happening.

4th Waypoint – Grassy Triangle with lamp post
=============================================
You’re getting warmer, watch out for the bikes and muggles.

S 37 52’.abc
E 145 04’.xyz

• a is derived by adding the first three numerals on the North side of the lamp post.
• b is the number of Dodo Birds swimming in Gardiners Creek down below.
• c is the score you get by double-bogeying hole #16.
• x is approximately how many kilometres you are from Warrigal Rd.
• y is the number of sandtraps around the 16th green plus 1.
• z is the number of ‘i’s in the Gardiner Ck Path sign.

Here’s where you will find the final cache. Be Careful!!!
