This cache was placed for those who enjoy a short (0.4 mile one way) hike in the forest on an easy to moderate trail ending at an outstanding vista. This vista is of four Cascade mountains: Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams. St. Helens and Rainier are only visible on very clear days.
The area around the cache has been logged to salvage the trees killed by Mountain Pine Beetle and Spruce Budworm. A new crop of trees are emerging and in a short (tree life) time and with proper management there will be another forest here before long. Cache is an ammo can inside a specially camo'd 5-gallon bucket with a rather unique "lid." Look down where the "bottom" sits. Painting on side of ammo can is original by owner. Access is via Forest Roads 44 and 4420. Parking coordinates are for a location on the 4420 road.
