Rocky beach front property below a walking
path. May get wet during retrieval. Not recommended for kids at
shore level but they can come and stay up on walking path above the
cache location. Low tide = "ROCKY" beach; high tide = knee high
water.
WARNING!!! The cache may be
subject to adverse conditions (rising surf). I've only witnessed
the high tide going up to knee high conditions and the surf is
minimal in Pattaya, however, conditions can change. DON'T ATTEMPT
TO RETRIEVE IF YOU CANNOT SWIM. IF NEEDED, WAIT UNTIL LOW TIDE AND
YOU WILL STAY DRY. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FOOTING AS THE ROCKS
PRESENT A SERIOUS CONCERN FOR ONES SAFETY.
The British are coming! The British are
coming!
One if by land, two if by sea, three if by air, and four if by
taxi via the airport. Wait. We don't even have a light inside the
lighthouse to warn the locals. What kind of lighthouse doesn't have
a rotating beacon? Talk about an "Oxymoron". It just goes to show
ya that the British have already invaded Pattaya; without a lantern
in this lighthouse to warn the locals, the British came and
conquered all the pubs / beer bars in Pattaya.
Don't call "Air Supply" (that Australian pop duo from the 80's)
because not even they can fix it. Hmmm, let's analyze this. Air
Supply had a hit song "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All". Now
let's look at some of the lyrics from said song: "You can take the
darkness from the pit of the night and turn into a "BEACON" burning
endlessly bright". Ok, no Beacon burning endlessly bright found at
this location. Sorry, Air Supply. The darkness from the pit of the
night will remain the darkness from the pit of the night.
What does all this rhetoric mean? It means the landmark structure
located at this location, also known as a LIGHTHOUSE, doesn't have
a lantern / beacon. However, with that said, there is a tiny red
flashing light. What kind of lighthouse doesn't have a rotating
beacon? Oh yeah, an "Oxymoron" Lighthouse. That's my story and I'm
sticking to it.
There is a retaining (rock)
wall that is used for 2 purposes:
1) It is used to protect the Lighthouse from the breakwater
2) It is used to hide a geocache
This is a small tupperware container
with a film canister inside cache. Bring your own pen. Log and
Micro TB to start but will probably be a log only in the future.
Please, if you have a micro TB, it would be greatly appreciated if
you leave one here. This location gives you the best opportunity to
retrieve the cache and not be seen.
