Above is a segment of topographic map 31H05
“Lachine” showing a portion of the West Island, I have
highlighted in yellow two local manmade structures (WP1 & WP2)
that are located on the periphery (circumference) of an imaginary
circle. The final cache is located precisely at the centre of this
circle.
I have included Google Earth images of the two structures to
help you identify them.
The coordinates at the top of the cache page represent the point
of convergence (intersection) of two lines tangent to the imaginary
circle that touch its perimeter at WP1 and WP2 respectively.
As with any cache of this nature, precision of the calculations
will affect the accuracy of the estimated final position.
For the purpose of this cache, distances and bearings are
measured using the “Rhumb Line” method.
The coordinates used for WP1 and WP2 in my calculations
represent the centres of the enclosures surrounding the structures.
(It is not permitted to enter the enclosures)

Ci-haut est un segment de la carte topographique 31H05
“Lachine” montrant une partie du « West Island
». J'ai accentué en jaune deux constructions locales
faites par l’homme ( WP1 & WP2) qui sont situées
à la périphérie (circonférence) d'un
cercle imaginaire. La cache finale est précisément au
centre de ce cercle.
J'ai inclus des images de Google Earth des deux structures
pour vous aider à les identifier.
Les coordonnées en haut de la page de cache
représentent le point de rencontre (intersection) de deux
lignes tangentes au cercle imaginaire qui touchent son
périmètre à WP1 et à WP2
respectivement.
Comme avec n'importe quelle cache de cette nature, la
précision des calculs affectera l'exactitude de la position
finale prévue.
Pour les fins de cette cache, les distances et les azimuts
sont mesurées en utilisant la méthode « rhumb
line »
Les coordonnées utilisées pour WP1 et WP2 dans
mes calculs représentent les centres des clôtures
entourant les structures. (Il n'est pas permis d’entrer
à l’intérieur des clôtures)
