Grey Wolf and Wild Rice once told me of a day when the
Geochecker didn't exist. I
still don't believe him, but then again he has been part of the
caching a lot longer than I have. My days of puzzle caching have
always included a Geochecker and
this one is no different. The Geochecker makes it clear that it
is meant for just that:
Checking solutions. Though after 10 attempts you are warned and
after 25 you are threatened, somehow cachers still manage to brute
force solutions.
Anyways, I eventually started placing my own puzzle caches, and
I had to figure out more than just using it, but actually making
it. Of course I was able to figure out the basic "plug in the
coords and get
Success" part, but that was about it. Recently however, I
decided to try something new. I took a peak at the more complicated
links that followed. If you've ever created one, you may have
noticed the link to show cachers some
basic visit statistics. The next code, however is where it got
secretive, like the owner was
spying on you. It was the code for
A Very Special Link. It took me a while to figure out how to
use it, but it is pretty neat if you have the
right kind of puzzle.
UPDATE: The cache is 15 ft SE of the obvious and original
location. It is winter frindly. I tried to keep this as non-mathy
as possible, but if you want coords, do the following: From the
coords used to get "SUCCESS", subtract .002 from the north coord
and subtract .004 from the west coord.
