Geocache Description:

Recently, I got excited about buying kayaks for the family and have been testing a few types on the water to see what I like the best and what might work well with my family of four.

QWERTY grew up around here, as did my wife, and he was somewhat familiar with the backwaters although he'd never been to the spot where the final is and was kinda surprised when we got there. We had a great time talking about caching and kayaking as we exchanged banter about our lives, decided we needed to do more of both in the future. And what better way than to combine these two great outdoor activities!

This cache will challenge you in more ways than one and cannot be done in anything larger than a kayak or a canoe.

After you get to WP1 (magnetic) and are ready to go after WP2 (hanger), take the first backwater turn to the south. When you come to the intersection, turn back northeast and you will be in good shape for WP2. The final (PVC) will take you do a different area and it is NOT necessary to portage to get there. Once you have the final coordinates and get back to open water look for the small shelter and head towards it. That is where you will find the way through. Watch your head... When you get to the final you can finally rest, but I would not recommend resting where the final is... Make sure you tighten the cache top as tight as you can with your hands, it is the seal and anchor of the cache.

There is an unregistered geocoin in the final for the FTF and a couple of geopins for the next couple finders.... now get out there and start yakin!

10.16.12 Adopted by Jomusky - when I found it we were able to get WP1 and WP2 with my bass boat and the final I just waded for but it was nasty.
