LudaL: Je tu kolem plno keší a málo volného prostoru na přiměřené znovuumístění, kde kolem nechodí stovky lidí.

Bezdomovec usídlený přímo u keše a jakýsi přírodní záchod poblíž keši opravdu nesvědčily (i když v době stěhování keše tam nebylo ani jedno).

Proto keš nakonec archivuji.

Lidové Sady (PKO = Park Kultury a Oddechu, adresa Sovova 425/1) jsou jedním z kulturních a spolecenských center Liberce. Porádají se tam koncerty, plesy ve svetle lustru, tanecní kurzy, výstavy kocek, psu, fotografií, hudební kurzy,... Do velkého sálu se vejde pres tisíc lidí. Experimentální studio porádá menší akce jako jsou nedelní pohádky pro deti. Restauraci PKO podél velkého sálu s terasou na zahrade doplnuje ješte restaurace Formanka na boku budovy.

Budovu i velkou zahradu s altánem využívají napríklad každorocne porádané Bambiriády - zábavné dny pro deti lákající deti k ruzným zajímavým cinnostem – souteže, trampolína, opicí dráha, tvorivá cinnost, hlavolamy, skauting, ruzné venkovní hry, první pomoc (ošetrování fingovaných zranení),... V príznivém pocasí si mohou deti od jara do podzimu užívat blízký Detský koutek - houpacky, kolotoce, prolézacky, pískovište, bludište, pujcovna „dopravních prostredku“ (tríkolek, kolobežek, kol a šlapacích autícek), vodní fontány, vlácek a ruské kolo,.... Blízko také najdete Dum detí a mládeže Vetrník, který nabízí nejen školním detem spoustu zájmových kroužku (výtvarné, keramika, dramatické, hudební, tanec, prírodoveda, modelárství, elektronika, pocítace, deskové hry, sport, turistika,...). Pár minut pešky parkem s naucnou ministezkou stací k návšteve liberecké ZOO a o kousek dál botanické zahrady.

Vystoupíte-li na konecné stanici tramvaje, prímo naproti Lidovým sadum je križovatka turistických cest, po nichž se dostanete pešky lesem až do srdce Jizerských hor.

K Lidovým sadum patríval ješte Amfiteátr – lesní divadlo. Už je bohužel desetiletí zavrený a rádne zarostlý džunglí keru a stromu až s deseticentimetrovým prumerem, ale pamatuje i své chvíle slávy, kdy v nem (stejne jako ve velkém sále) excelovaly legendy (nejen) ceské hudební scény – folkové, rockové, klasické,... Možná se docká v dohledné dobe rekonstrukce, ale pravdepodobne v nem pak místo centra kultury najdete centrum adrenalinové. Na rekonstrukci smutne ceká i nedaleké a taktéž uzavrené lesní koupalište.

Krome hudebních legend jsme o Lidových sadech bohužel nenašli žádnou známou legendu o zázraku nebo aspon o strašidle. Zkuste si nejakou sami vymyslet.

Puvodne úzkorozchodná, od 90. let 20. století dvojrozchodná tramvajová trat má od roku 1897 v Lidových sadech konecnou, jejíž protejšek v soucasnosti leží o 8,8 km dál v Horním Hanychove.

V letech 1999-2006 sídlila v Lidových sadech liberecká redakce Ceského rozhlasu.

A mluvíme-li o Lidových sadech, nesmíme zapomenout na 35 metru vysokou vyhlídkovou vež (rozhlednu) se 155 schody, v níž bývá také výstava fotografií a je v ní k dostání turistická známka 1410. Vež sloužila od roku 1901 až do poloviny padesátých let, kdy byla z bezpecnostních duvodu uzavrena. Po rekonstrukci v kvetnu 1998 je opet celorocne prístupná verejnosti každý den od 10:00 do 17:00 (vstupné viz stránky Lidových Sadu).

V dohledu z veže Lidových sadu je i blízká rozhledna liberecká Výšina.

Historie Lidových sadu zacala otevrením zahradní restaurace s kapacitou 2000 lidí v roce 1874, v roce 1901 byla slavnostne otevrena budova restaurace (se znaky romantismu a secese) se sálem pro 1000 lidí a s vyhlídkovou veži (viz více).

The Popular Orchards (PKO = Park of Culture and Leisure, address Sovova 425/1) – one of cultural and society centers of Liberec. They organize concerts, balls in the light of chandeliers, dancing lessons, exhibitions of cats, dogs, photographs, music lessons,... The great hall will hold more than thousand people. The Experimental studio organizes smaller actions like Sunday fairy-tales for children. The PKO restaurant along the great hall with a terrace in the garden is complemented with Formanka restaurant at the building side.

The building together with its large garden and summer-house is used by annual Bambiriadas – amusing days for children that attract children to various interesting activities – competitions, trampoline, ape track, creative activities, brain-twisters, scouting, various outdoor games, first aid (treating pretended wounds),... From spring to autumn good weather allows children to enjoy the Childrens’ corner (Detský koutek) - swings, merry-go-rounds, crawl-throughs, sand-pits, labyrinth, “driving” rental service (three-wheels, scooters, bicycles and treadle cars), water fountains, happy train and russian wheel,.... A nearby Pinwheel, the house of children and youth (Dum detí a mládeže Vetrník), offers many specialized weekly activities to children (creative, scenic, music and dance activities, ceramics, nature, modelling, electronics, computers, table games, sport, tourism,...). A few minutes’ walk through a park with a mini educational path is enough for visiting Liberec ZOO and only a little farther awaits you the botanic garden.

If you leave the tram at the end of the tram line, right opposite of the Popular Orchards there is a crossing of tourist routes, that can lead you walking through forest to the heart of the Jizera mountains.

The Popular Orchards used to have so-called Amfitheatre – a forest theatre. It has been closed for tens of years and it has changed to a jungle of bushes and ten-centimeters-thick trees, but it remembers its times of glory, when it was a place (as well as the great hall) for excellent performances of legends of (not only) Czech music – folk, rock, classic,... It may be lucky enough to be reconstructed in the close future, but it will probably change from cultural to adrenalin center. A reconstruction is also sadly awaited by also closed nearby forest swimming pool.

Except for music legends we weren’t able to find any popular legend about a miracle or at least a ghost in the Popular Orchards. Try to imagine some legend of your own.

Originally narrow rail, since the nineties of the 20th century dual-gauge (both narrow and wide rail) tram line has since 1897 terminus in the Popular Orchards, the other end of the line lies now 8.8 km farther in Horní Hanychov.

Between 1999 and 2006 there was a residence of the Czech Radio (Ceský rozhlas) edition in the Popular Orchards.

Talking about Popular Orchards, we must not forget the 35 meters high look-out-tower with 155 stairs, which often presents a photograph exhibition and where you can get a tourist stamp No. 1410. The tower served since 1901 up to 1950s, when it was closed because of unsafety. After reconstruction in May of 1998 it is again all the year round public accessible every day from 10:00 to 17:00 (for entrance fees see the Popular Orchards web pages).

Not far from the Popular Orchards’ tower you can see Výšina (Height) look-out tower.

The Popular Orchards’ history started in 1874 with opening a garden restaurant with capacity 2000 people. The partially romantic and late-19th century decorative style restaurant with a hall for 1000 people and with a look-out-tower was gloriously open in 1901 (see more).
