">I recently took a trip to Roswell, New Mexico to visit some long lost relatives. Though I’ve never been very interested in antiques, my relatives convinced me to tag along with them and check out a local shop. Almost immediately after entering, an item caught my eye. It was an antique desk that once belonged to Colonel William H. Blanchard. I'm told he was the commanding officer of what was Roswell Army Air Field back in the 40's. It’s hard to explain but I had the strangest feeling the desk was calling out to me. Of course, I just had to purchase it and ship it back home to Kansas. Well, it arrived about a week ago and things have gotten really interesting. While polishing the desk I came across a secret compartment. In the compartment was a metal plate with strange markings. I have not yet been able to determine what the markings mean but I was hoping my fellow cachers, being the brilliant minds they are, might help shine some light on it. Of course I don’t expect anyone to give up their free time studying the plate for nothing. If you are able to decipher the markings there may be some cache in your future (along with a FTF prize of an unactivated 2007 Geocoinfest coin).
