Although a bit late, this cache is placed to commemorate our first year of geo-caching. We enjoy treasure hunting so much we decided to hide a real treasure chest filled with precious gems and jewels we have collected from other caches over the past year also a log book, pencil, sharpener and first to find certificate.

Some pirates travel
The ocean blue,
To look for buried treasure,
Is what they like to do.

Now here is a challenge
You just can't ignore,
Look for the island,
You can see it from shore.

Captain Doogie's treasure
Can only be found
When you take your eyes from the trees
And look to the ground.

Now watch that tide
It comes very fast,
You could find yourself stuck
Until 12 hours have past.

Just had to try this cache (as well as GC1PRBB) so went out at low tide tonight. Went with my Wife's Uncle's Wife. Long walk to the island. We headed out about 40 minutes before low tide and got back about 30 minutes after. Amazing how fast the tide comes back at times, when coming back we looked back to where we just walked over and what was sand was now water after only a minute.

Very nice treasure chest, I brought back a coin for my son and left a feather behind.

Found with wanderin_wolf. What a great walk out to the island. Lots of nesting birds and they were not happy with us. Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes return trip. Lots and lots of clammers out.
